keep PRESCRIBED FEES
Amends the Plant Protection Products (Fees) Regulations 1995 by substituting the Schedule of fees. Establishes fee structures for the authorization, review, and maintenance of plant protection products (pesticides).
These fees represent cost-recovery for scientific evaluation and monitoring of pesticide products, which protects public health and agricultural safety. Without such fees, the regulatory burden would shift to general taxpayers or the assessment regime would be underfunded, potentially compromising food safety and environmental standards. The fees are a necessary mechanism to fund the independent scientific scrutiny that prevents harmful products from entering the market.
