keep BOROUGH OF BOSTON: NAMES AND AREAS OF WARDS AND NUMBERS OF COUNCILLORS
This Order abolishes existing wards of Boston borough and replaces them with 18 new wards, specifies councillor numbers for each ward, establishes two parish wards (Hilldyke and Village) within Fishtoft parish, and revokes the 1977 electoral arrangements Order. It came into force 10 October 1998 for election proceedings and 6 May 1999 for all other purposes.
Electoral boundary changes are purely administrative arrangements for democratic representation and impose no economic regulatory burden on citizens or businesses. Deleting this would leave Boston borough without legally defined electoral wards, preventing legitimate local elections from occurring and creating constitutional chaos. These are technical geographic demarcations for democratic governance, not regulations that distort markets, restrict trade, or impose compliance costs on economic actors.
